Parents.com Sponsored Package for Best Western

Client: Best Western
Role: Art Director & Animator
Illustrator: Mira Norian
Deliverables: 1 animated hero image, 4 editorial hero illustrations
Launch Platform: Parents.com

Project Overview

I partnered with the editorial team at Parents.com and illustrator Mira Norian to bring this sponsored package to life for Best Western. The goal was to create branded illustrations that celebrated the diversity of families traveling across the U.S., while supporting engagement with Best Western ads featured throughout the package.

Deliverables included:

  • 1 animated hero image to introduce the package

  • 4 individual hero illustrations for supporting articles

These visuals served to guide readers into the content while aligning with Best Western’s brand values of accessibility, comfort, and family-friendliness.

The Challenge

Tight timeline: 2 weeks to concept, illustrate, and animate the full package

  • Multi-use deliverables: Art needed to function across editorial, branded content, and animated assets

  • Goal: Visually support article content while increasing attention and interaction with Best Western’s on-page ads

To solve this, I pitched the idea of an airport moving walkway—a setting that allowed us to naturally include multiple families, scenes, and motion in one cohesive visual space.

The Concept

The airport walkway concept offered two major benefits:

  • Ease of Animation: Allowed for smooth motion with minimal adjustments, making tight-turnaround revisions manageable

  • Visual Continuity: Characters from each article reappeared in the main animation, tying the whole package together

I art directed the illustrations to reflect a wide range of real families, guiding Mira Norian on character diversity, wardrobe, and pacing. I then animated the hero opener to create a welcoming, brand-aligned entry point to the series.
